Portfolio task 6

Nowadays, many people travel from one place to another. So they need to change their currency to what the other country uses. People think that if we have a global currency it will be easier to trade money or travel. But I think it’s very difficult to make one currency for the world. In this essay I will discuss both cases.

Having a single currency would eliminate and problems during paying. Paying system by credit system, chip and pin card, or anything else would be easier because at that time there will be no commission or changes in exchanging money.

During traveling travelers will not face any difficulty in searching for an exchange office to pay for his goods. The currency is same and he will be relaxed. More over there will be no risk in failing. All of the countries will have the same currency that will not cause any problem in anytime. No sudden events or disasters will fail the currency in a sector or the whole country.

In conclusion I see a global currency as a future ideal but it will not happen in my lifetime. It would make trade and travel much easier but the problems it would cause nowadays would be insurmountable.

The line graph shows the number of people who visited Australia. The table below shows the number of visitors in millions who came to Australia from different countries in 1975 and 2005.

The given line graph illustrates information on the number of overseas visitors traveling to Australia in millions of people. That's a jump from 10 million to 30 million in 20 years.

The second table gives statistics showing the countries whose residents went to Australia between 1975 and 2005. Portfolio Task 3

Nowadays people are having problems with being overweight, and most of them think that the only way to get a healthy life is to do a diet and get a fit body. I agree with this idea and in this essay I will explain my reasons.

The reason why I agree with the idea is being overweight may cause many problems to your body, you will be heavy and slow, and you can’t do everything that others can do, which will cause you some mental problems, you will feel weak, sad and different. Also because good health is in a good body. Especially if your weight is above the normal weight more than 30 kg you must work hard to decrease your weight with a balanced diet or eating balanced meals.

Sometimes I disagree with a balanced diet or eating balanced meals. The reason that I disagree is because there are some things more important to a healthy life such as doing exercise. Also sleeping after the meals is dangerous for your healthy. The idea which I want to say is that by doing exercise and never sleep after eating, you will not need to have balanced diet or eat balanced meals.

Overall you can understand how diet helps the person to lose weight which will lead to a better life without any problem in mind and body, a fit body always bring a healthy life.

Portfolio Task 4

Children need appropriate education to gain necessary qualifications for their future career. Some people advocate that they ought to be taught to become competitive, while others claim that they should learn how to unite with other people. This essay will reflect upon these two arguments.

Indeed a sense of competitiveness is essential, especially for children to attain better personal performance. If children are taught early to be competitive, they might as well be familiar with stiff rivalries and have a rational perspective. More importantly, competitiveness proves to be a motive to encourage children's efforts in order to be recognized, in other words, be noticeable. Thus, schools often stick examination results on the bulletin board afterwards. Some students achieving top marks may feel proud of themselves; meanwhile, students who gained satisfactory grades will make greater attempts to keep up with their more brilliant classmates. In short, one of the effective ways to stimulate children's initiative is training their competitiveness.

However cooperation is an indispensible factor for group work, which is demanding team work. Children often have to participate in a number of group activities and when they grow up, they will accomplish many tasks with their colleagues. Inherently, a large amount of work is divided into sections to suit the specialized knowledge of each person and this will make it much simpler to complete. Therefore, if they lack a cooperative spirit, children will become unhelpful and counterproductive in the long run.

My view is that both competitiveness and cooperation are required from children. Contrary to popular belief in conflict, they supplement each other with a view to generating  highly efficient workforce.
