Portfolio Task 3

Nowadays people are having problems with being overweight, and most of them think that the only way to get a healthy life is to do a diet and get a fit body. I agree with this idea and in this essay I will explain my reasons.

The reason why I agree with the idea is being overweight may cause many problems to your body, you will be heavy and slow, and you can’t do everything that others can do, which will cause you some mental problems, you will feel weak, sad and different. Also because good health is in a good body. Especially if your weight is above the normal weight more than 30 kg you must work hard to decrease your weight with a balanced diet or eating balanced meals.

Sometimes I disagree with a balanced diet or eating balanced meals. The reason that I disagree is because there are some things more important to a healthy life such as doing exercise. Also sleeping after the meals is dangerous for your healthy. The idea which I want to say is that by doing exercise and never sleep after eating, you will not need to have balanced diet or eat balanced meals.

Overall you can understand how diet helps the person to lose weight which will lead to a better life without any problem in mind and body, a fit body always bring a healthy life.

Portfolio Task 4

Children need appropriate education to gain necessary qualifications for their future career. Some people advocate that they ought to be taught to become competitive, while others claim that they should learn how to unite with other people. This essay will reflect upon these two arguments.

Indeed a sense of competitiveness is essential, especially for children to attain better personal performance. If children are taught early to be competitive, they might as well be familiar with stiff rivalries and have a rational perspective. More importantly, competitiveness proves to be a motive to encourage children's efforts in order to be recognized, in other words, be noticeable. Thus, schools often stick examination results on the bulletin board afterwards. Some students achieving top marks may feel proud of themselves; meanwhile, students who gained satisfactory grades will make greater attempts to keep up with their more brilliant classmates. In short, one of the effective ways to stimulate children's initiative is training their competitiveness.

However cooperation is an indispensible factor for group work, which is demanding team work. Children often have to participate in a number of group activities and when they grow up, they will accomplish many tasks with their colleagues. Inherently, a large amount of work is divided into sections to suit the specialized knowledge of each person and this will make it much simpler to complete. Therefore, if they lack a cooperative spirit, children will become unhelpful and counterproductive in the long run.

My view is that both competitiveness and cooperation are required from children. Contrary to popular belief in conflict, they supplement each other with a view to generating  highly efficient workforce.

Studying is very important these days.  Two figures are shown. The first chart provides information regarding the reasons for study among students of different age groups in the UK. The second chart is about the amount of support they receive from employers.

Firstly, regarding the first bar chart, the overall trend is that the number of students is studying for career decreases, and the number studying for interest increases with the increase of age; students under 26 recorded 80% for career and only 10% for interest. Also students over 49 had almost 29% studying for career and 70% for interest. However students between 40 and 49 had percentage of 40 for both reasons of studying.

Looking at the second bar chart it can be seen that the significant information is that students under the age of 26 had the most support from the employers at nearly 64%. Student, between 30 and 39 had the least support almost 33%. Students over 49 also had good support.

Looking at the table we can see that on Wednesday is the highest income for the lunch with over $2595. Next comes the lunch on Friday followed by the lunch on Tuesday then the lunch on Monday. To clarity the sums clarify were $2500, $2450 and $2400 respectively.

We now consider what the sales were for dinner in the week. It can be noted the dinner on Friday was the highest rate with $4350. In contrast the sales of dinner at the weekend were $2900 followed by the lunch on Saturday with $1950.
